This allow for a wrench for tightening of Jam nuts and adjustment of the length,  and no need to add a groove for identification.

Sizes are Identified by the Part Number as follows:

First 2 letters are the Tube Adapter: TA

First and Second Numbers are Thread size: 18=10-32, 25=1/4-28, 31=5/16-24, 38=3/8-24, 43=7/16-20, 50=1/2-20, 62=5/8-18, 75=3/4-16,etc

Third And Fourth Numbers are  Tube Size: 37=3/8, 50=1/2, 62=5/8, 75-3/4, 87=7/8, 10=1,  11=1-1/8, 12=1-1/4, 15=1-1/2

Last Number is Wall Thickness: 4=.049, 5=.058, 6=.065, 8=.083, 9=.095

And the Last Letter is Thread Direction:  L=Left Hand, R=Right Hand
